Here are 10 issues that can stop your Dyson from working properly that can easily be resolved.

1. Not picking up through the hose

If your Dyson won’t pick up using the hose check to make sure that there is nothing blocking the hose. Picking up smaller objects can prevent this from happening again in the future.

2. Blocked cleaner head (brushes)

A blocked cleaner head can be fixed by carefully removing the blockage. Hair, string and other items are usually to blame. It might be time to replace the cleaner head if it looks worn out, or isn’t as effective even after you have removed the blockage.

3. Turns itself off

If your Dyson turns itself off it is usually a sign that it is overheating. This can be caused by a blockage or dirty filters. It is straightforward to check for a blockage or change dirty filters. If this doesn’t resolve the problem, then it may mean that the motor is worn out.

4. Not picking up

10. General observations

In 1978, while vacuuming his home, James Dyson realized that his bag vacuum cleaner was constantly losing suction power.  He noticed how quickly dust clogged the pores of the bag and blocked the airflow, so that suction dropped rapidly.
